Is being late a big deal?
Is being late a big deal?
Is being late a big deal?
Is being late a big deal?
Is being late a big deal?
Is being late a big deal?

No, being late is not a big deal. Something could have happened and you had to attend to it. I actually want to change my opinion, I think being late for school is the same as being late for work. If you are late you lose time and money from work and you will never get aqnything done if you are always late for class.

Introduction to News Reports

-key information comes at the beginning

-The storyaboutt Marianne St-Gelais
who-Marianne St-Gelais
What-The gold medal
Where-Emotional ceremorny
When-February 19 2010 12:05
Why-she trained very hard and she won a medal
How- she beat the other people in the race

-the most important information comes in the first sentence or two (the lead)

VANCOUVER - First came the roar, then, after a short wait, came the silver medal, and once it was around short-track speed skater Marianne St-Gelais's neck, followed the exuberant bouncing, excited waves and tears.

-the information is presented most to least relevant

most relevant -speed skater won the silver medal

least relevant - When asked if she imagined she'd win a medal before her boyfriend - who is a world champion and won a silver of his own in 2006 - she laughed

-the reporter is not part of the story (the reporter writes using 'he,' 'she' or 'they' NOT 'I' or 'me').

"It wasn't a race, it wasn't a challenge, but had I known, I think I would have bet something, I might have been able to make a little bit of money" St-Gelais sad. St-Gelais sad. (I found thisn spelling mistake)

-the reporter gives as many facts and details as possible

see the answers from the first question

-reporters try to include either direct or indirect quotations

"It wasn't a race, it wasn't a challenge, but had I known, I think I would have bet something, I might have been able to make a little bit of money" St-Gelais said.
